  SIMATIC PCS 7 stations are supplied without a keyboard. This applies to SIMATIC PCS 7 Industrial Workstations, SIMATIC PCS 7 compact systems as well as PCS 7 OS Clients based on SIMATIC BOX and Microbox PC.

  An industrial grade SIMATIC PC keyboard without special functions (German/international key assignment) is offered as the standard keyboard for these SIMATIC PCS 7 system components; see ST PCS 7 Catalog, section "Industrial Workstation/IPC, expansion components".

  Fast access to important function via configurable keys is often desirable for the optimization of process management. Typical for the use of such function keys are functions such as:

  • Selecting specific process screens
  • Selecting and acknowledging alarms and messages
  • Increasing and decreasing control variables
  • Sequential control

  The functions can then be called up immediately at the touch of a key and there is no need to navigate through menus. This is made possible with the process control keyboard for SIMATIC PCS 7, which combines a standard PC keyboard with 90 function keys.

  Process control keyboard for SIMATIC PCS 7

  The process control keyboard for SIMATIC PCS 7 is a membrane keyboard. It consists of a central standard PC keyboard with 104 keys to which a total of 90 function keys are assigned. All function keys feature an LED and can be custom-labeled for the specific plant or project. The effect of the individual function keys is defined for the process control system and LED control by configuring the keyboard driver provided.

  Two speakers are integrated in the process control keyboard to sound alarms. In addition to a USB interface for connection to a SIMATIC PCS 7 station, another USB interface is provided for connecting a mouse or trackball.

  The process control keyboard must be connected to an external power source (12 to 24 V DC) in order to use the internal speaker or a USB extension cable.

  The process control keyboard can be placed anywhere on the desktop or built into a console. IP65 degree of protection can be achieved when it is built into a console.
